Iraqi forces ready to chase terrorists inside Syria

Baghdad, Jan 27, IRNA – Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) are ready to intercept terrorists in Syria, Deputy Chairman of PMF Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis said.

PMF is ready to enter Syria's soil to defend Iraqi borders against terrorists, al-Muhandis told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Saturday.

Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces' entrance to Syria relies on Prime Minister of Iraq Haider al-Abadi’s decree and also on coordinating with Syrian government, he said.

Iraqi forces cannot remain silent towards terrorist intrusion to Iraq through Syria, he added.

Al-Muhandis had earlier announced that 60 percent of security in Iraq and Syria is under PMF control.
