Exchange of fire underway in Kabul hotel

Kabul, Jan 21, IRNA – Armed men and Afghan forces are exchanging fire on Sunday in and around an international hotel in Afghanistan's capital following a suicide attack on Saturday night.

The attack has claimed the lives of scores of people, according to unofficial forces. Afghan forces have reportedly killed two terrorists.

Police officers have blocked the way leading to the hotel. According to Afghanistan Interior Ministry spokesman Najib Danish, the attack has left 5 dead and injured 6 others.

The attackers started with a blast which caused electricity disconnection, Afghan security forces said. The hotel was hosting Chinese investors when came under attack.
