Memorial book open at Iran mission in Beirut for Sanchi victims

Beirut, Jan 19, IRNA – The Embassy of Iran in Beirut opened a memorial book on Wednesday to commemorate the sailors of the Sanchi oil tanker who lost their life in a crash fire accident.

A number of ambassadors and foreign missions in Beirut on Friday paid tribute to the victims of the tragic incident of Iranian tanker by signing the memorial book.

Lebanese Minister of National Defense Yacoub Sarraf also attended Iran embassy in Beirut to sign the memorial book.

The 30 Iranian and the two Bangladeshi sailors, who were members of the crew, had unfortunately been killed due to toxic gases and the huge size of the fire which embraced the tanker since the occurrence of the tragic incident, Head of Ports and Maritime Organization Mohammad Rastad told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Sunday morning.
