Tehran, Moscow consultations essential for settling regional issues: Deputy FM

Moscow, Jan 19, IRNA – The developments in the Middle East and Arab World prompt consultations by Iran and Russia, deputy FM said.

Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Jaberi-Ansari made the remarks in a meeting with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov on Friday.

Ansari also expressed tendency for holding talks over regional developments and especially issues in Iraq, Libya and Yemen.

The latest developments with regards to Palestinian crisis, Holy Quds and Syria will also be discussed during the meeting, he said.

He also referred to the Sochi meeting on Syria issues which is slated to be held in Russia with the attendance of Iran, Russia and Turkey within 10 days.

Iran and Russia enjoy high capacity to solve regional problems especially in fighting terrorism, he said.

After his meeting with Bogdanov, Iranian diplomat left Moscow for Sochi.

He will also hold meetings with Putin's special envoy for Syrian Affairs Alexander Lavrentiev and Turkey's Deputy Foreign Minister Sedat Onal based on the schedule and arrangement of Syrian National Dialogue Congress.

Syrian National Dialogue Congress will be held in Sochi on January 29 and 30.
