Iran eyes cooperation with New Zealand on stockbreeding

Bojnourd, Jan 18, IRNA – The deputy governor of Iran's North Khorasan Province has called for cooperation between New Zealand livestock experts and the animal husbandry sector of the province.

'We call for continuous cooperation between the experts in animal husbandry in New Zealand and the stockbreeders in the province,' Mohammad Delpasand said at a meeting with experts held on Thursday to review methods to improve the livestock economy of the province.

The stockbreeders in North Khorasan can rely on the help provided by livestock experts from New Zealand to acquire more knowledge and redevelop themselves in the field, Delpasand added.

Stressing that livestock is one of the main sources of income of the people in rural areas in the province, he said that the province is interested in more cooperation with the New Zealand experts on breeding, nutrition and related academic knowledge.

North Khorasan, to the northeastern Iran with the city of Bojnourd as its provincial capital, is home to about 1 million people.
