Ghana president slams Trump’s racist remarks

Algiers, Jan 14, IRNA – President of Ghana in a message criticized US President Donald Trump for his recent insults to some countries.

“The language of Donald Trump that the African continent, Haiti and El Salvador are “shithole countries” is extremely unfortunate. We are certainly not a “shithole country”. We will not accept such insults, even from a leader of a friendly country, no matter how powerful,” Nana Akufo-Addo said in a Twitter message released on Saturday.

Trump, on January 11, ridiculed Haitians by referring to the African nations as 'shithole' countries.

Trump's use of racist words has sparked criticism and the worldwide condemnation of the question.

Hillary Clinton, Trump's democratic rival during presidential campaign, commented on his remarks tweeting 'The anniversary of the devastating earthquake 8 years ago is a day to
remember the tragedy, honor the resilient people of Haiti, & affirm America’s commitment to helping our neighbors. Instead, we‘re subjected to Trump’s ignorant, racist views of anyone who doesn’t look like him.'

Meanwhile Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said, “A man who has taken power in the United States is unfortunately addressing the world nations with 'vulgar and unacceptable words.”
