Iran, Iraq sign air transport agreement

Tehran, Jan 13, IRNA – Iran and Iraq signed a transport agreement on Saturday which aims to facilitate pilgrims' visits and promote transportation cooperation between the two countries.

The document was signed by Iraq's Transport Minister Kadhim Finjan al Hammami and Head of Iran's Civil Aviation Organization Ali Abedzadeh.

The agreement paves the way for transport cooperation and expansion of planned flights between Iran and Iraq.

Over 100 flights are operating by Iranian airlines each week bound for the Iraqi cities of Baghdad and Najaf.
