Tehran, Jan 7, IRNA – The Iranian Parliament's consultative meeting for reviewing the latest riots in the country convened here on Sunday with the participation of representatives from the executive branch, an Iranian lawmaker said.

Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani, Intelligence Minister Mahmoud Alavi and Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli are attending the session, Fatemeh Zolqadr told IRNA.

Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani is chairing the session which is underway behind the closed doors.

In a number of major cities protests were held against the economic situation and shortcomings after December 28, 2017, but the protests turned violent in some parts due to the provocations orchestrated from outside the country.
