Stronger Iran-Pakistan ties to ensure regional peace: Pak senior MP

Islamabad, Jan 5, IRNA - Member of Pakistani Parliament and former Chief Minister of eastern Punjab Province Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi says that stronger Iran-Pakistan friendship will ensure peace in the region.

He made the remarks during a meeting with Consul General of Iran in Lahore Majeed Sadeghi Dowlat Abadi who called on him at his residence.

They agreed that unanimous stance of the Ummah on Palestine and Al-Quds is a need of the hour.

Senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Q congratulated Dowlat Abadi on assuming charge of Consul General of Iran in Lahore and hoped that relations between the two friendly countries would further strengthen during his tenure in Pakistan.

Dowlat Abadi on the occasion said that he visited Pakistan 18 years ago and since then he has been enjoying good ties with Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and his cousin former Prime Minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain.

They discussed in detail the situation of Palestine and Iran-Pakistan ties and stressed upon the need for forging unity in the Islamic World to encounter conspiracies against Islam.
