Turkey opposes foreign intervention in Iran’s internal affairs

Ankara, Jan 3, IRNA - Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey voiced his country's opposition to foreign powers' intervention in Iran's domestic affairs.

“Turkey is against external interventions; using force and violence as well as illegal protests,” Bekir Bozdağ said in a Twitter message released on Wednesday.

“It is obvious that the crisis, chaos and conflicts in Iran will harm Iran, Iranians and the region,” he continued in a separate message.

“Turkey is closely following the events in Iran. We attach importance to the preservation of peace and stability in Iran,” he noted.

“We would like to emphasize once again the necessity and power of the government and the people to act carefully, prudently and discreetly against the incitement and provocations, the traps and for the preservation of peace, calmness and stability in Iran,” he added.

A number of the Iranian cities were the scenes of unrests in recent days. The protests against rising prices and economic situation turned into sporadic violence in some places.
