Iran President: Gov't confident of security, stability

Tehran, Jan 3, IRNA – President Hassan Rouhani underlined that he is confident of Iran's security and stability, saying that the massive presence of people in [the streets] to oppose the rioters would prove it.

President Rouhani made the remarks in a telephone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Wednesday.

Ankara regards Iran's stability and security as its own, Turkish president said.

Referring to the interference and role of western and Zionists media in triggering the recent unrest in Iran, President Rouhani said that the Iranian police had a wise presence in dealing with unrests which indicated the extent of confidence of the Iranian police in security and stability as well as the massive the presence of people in the scene to show their opposition to such acts of sabotage and help to more comprehensive security and calmness.

In the Islamic Republic of Iran people are free to express their critics and protest within law and there is no doubt that we attach importance to their security and calmness while never remain silent towards violence or any illegal act by intruders, he said.

Expressing satisfaction over positive level of cooperation in politics, security and economy, President Rouhani said there is no doubt that implementation of already agreed projects in the new year will bring a new boost and motives in expansion of Tehran-Ankara relations mainly in the economic sector.

Bolstering of banking cooperation and easing customs formalities and red tapes play significant role in broadening of economic cooperation between the two countries, President Rouhani said.

Iran is determined to bolster relations with Turkey in regional developments as Astana talks helped expansion of security and this trend is to be continued till reaching full stability and security in the region, President Rouhani said.

Turkish president, for his part, said Tehran and Ankara will continue their cooperation to further consolidate stability in the region.

Ankara is determined to expand all-out relations and cooperation with Tehran, the Turkish president said.

Expansion of banking cooperation and taking advantage of national currency in trade exchange will help deepen such cooperation, he added.

Tehran and Ankara are determined to continue regional cooperation to stabilize region, President Erdogan said.

Turkey regards Iran's stability and security as its won, Erdoğan said.

On allegations by the US and Zionist top officials on current unrest in Iran, he said, 'We have seen the western propaganda on our developments and are used to such repeated and interfering allegations of people like Trump and Netanyahu.

The two presidents also explored avenues on broadening mutual, regional and international cooperation.
