Iran recent riots not influencing crude oil prices

Tehran, Jan 2, IRNA – The recent riots in Iran had no effect on production of Iran crude oil.

“I see no impact on the production and export,” an official with petroleum industry who wanted to remain anonymous told Reuters News Agency.

“Everything is going normally,” Reuters quoted another source as saying, adding that the protests had not spread into the energy sector and “remained in the streets”.

Iran is the third big producer of oil in the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and produces about 3,800,000 barrels of oil per day.

Natural gas, coal, chrome, copper, iron ore, zinc, manganese and sulfur are among Iran’s other natural resources.
