“Some 230 athletes have so far registered for the event,” Majid Keyhani told Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Tuesday.
The 8th indoor track and field championships is scheduled to be held on February 1 in Tehran and it will be underway for three days.
“The number of participants is predicted to increase to 350-400 athletes from 20-25 countries,” he added.
“We expect 60 male and female athletes from Iran to attend the event,” he said.
Keyhani went on to say that Japan, Qatar, India, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan have so far expressed their readiness.
