E. Azarbaijan ups exports by 21% in 9 months

Tabriz, Dec 27, IRNA – Exports from East Azarbaijan province increased by 21 percent during the first 9 months of the current Iranian year (started March 22) compared with the same period last year.

“Some 1,152,357 tons of goods worth $905,147,104 were exported through East Azarbaijan customs,” an official with East Azarbaijan customs Ali Asghar Abbaszadeh told Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Wednesday.

The figure experienced 28% growth in weight and 21% rise in cost compared with the previous year.

“The exported goods consisted of plastic materials, fruit, chocolate and confectionery. Machinery, mechanical tools, sugar cubes and sugar, cereals, bread, glass, cast iron, steel and vegetable,” he said.

“The products were exported to 101 countries namely Iraq, Turkey, Georgia, Afghanistan, Armenia, Italy, Pakistan, Russia, Bulgaria and Azerbaijan,” he added.
