Tehran's Evin prison hosts Xmas feast

Tehran, Dec 26, IRNA – Christmas festivities were held in Evin Prison of Tehran in the presence of Chaldean and Assyrian lawmaker Yonathan Betkolia as well as northern Iran's Armenian Deputy in the parliament Karen Khanlari.

Betkolia said on Tuesday that in the ceremony, head chief of Iran's prisons, Evin Prison officials as well as Christian and Assyrian clergymen attended the ceremonies as guests.

Betkolia, who is secretary general of World Assyrian Union, said holding such ceremony in prisons indicated Iran's respect for religious minorities and added that there is no limitation for religious minorities in Iran.

Prophet Jesus Christ (PBUH) birth anniversary is on December 25, which is a great festivity for all Christians in the world.
