Iran, Qatar review ways to develop maritime cooperation

Tehran, Dec 26, IRNA – Director general of Ports & Maritime Organization Mohammad Rastad and Qatari Minister of Transportation and Communications Jassim Saif Ahmed Al Sulaiti discussed ways to promote maritime and port cooperation.

During the meeting, Al Sulaiti emphasized the need for removing obstacles to facilitate trade between the two countries.

Removing road blocks and problems in developing exports and transiting products from Iran’s southern ports to Qatar, fostering participation and investment in private sectors to promote logistic industry and maritime transportation were among other topics discussed by both sides.

The Iranian delegation also visited Ar Ru'ays Port.

They also held talks on loading and unloading Iranian watercraft, its infrastructures and the future developmental plans of this port, and also discussed Iranian products presence in border markets.
