No condition for Macron visit to Tehran: FM Spox

Tehran, Dec 25, IRNA – The date of French President Emmanuel Macron's visit to Tehran is not finalized yet and talks about 'conditions for the visit' are deviatory, said the spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry.

'Macron's visit to Tehran is on the agenda of both counties; but no date has been fixed for that. It cannot be deferred because there hasn't been a date,' said Bahram Qasemi.

Saying that there exist no pre-conditions in the goings and comings of the delegations, Qasemi said, 'Talking about preconditions for the visit is a deviatory idea that follows a certain end.'

Referring to some remarks made by certain French authorities, he said, 'We have a lot in common, but we certainly have different ideas in some issues.'

The spokesman added that the French are sometimes affected by Iran's enemies and those who spread Iranophobia and take positions based on incorrect information.

Qasemi said that in addition to the bilateral issues, financial, banking and technological ones will be dealt with during the visit, adding, 'We will clearly and honestly discuss Iran's stances about regional and other issues.'

'We will remind them how positive and constructive Iran's role in the region is and how Iran has resisted against the terrorists, and have been able to push them out of the region,' said Qasemi.
