Iran, Tatarstan hold trade meeting

Moscow, Dec 20, IRNA – Iran and Tatarstan held a Joint trade meeting in Kazan, capital of the Republic, in the presence of Governor General of Razavi Khorasan Alireza Rashidian and Prime Minister of Tatarstan Aleksey Pesoshin on Wednesday.

During the meeting, Pesoshin underlined that establishing close relations with Iran is a priority inTatarstan foreign policy.

He appreciated Iran's recent move in development of ties with Tatarstan Republic and applauded heads of Iran and Russia for their support of development of regional ties.

Concerning commercial exchanges between Iran and Tatarstan, Pesoshin said the figure increased 1.6 times in past year.

Rashidian underlined readiness of the province to develop ties in different fields with Tatarstan Republic, and voiced pleasure in the execution of agreements signed over past two meetings.

He also appreciated the efforts of Iran's Consulate General in Kazan, and said that by development of interaction with Tatarstan, this republic could be a hub for economic communication with other republics and regions surrounding Tatarstan.

Meanwhile, in a ceremony on Wednesday in the presence of Tatarstan prime minister, governor general of Khorasan Razavi and Iran's consul general in Kazan as well as a number of Iranian and Tatarstan's officials, exhibition for Iran's products and industrial capabilities kicked off work here.

The exhibition will last until December 23, 2017.

More than 50 Iranian companies have presented their products like nuts, dried fruits, home appliances, electronic equipment, tire and auto spare parts, handicrafts, tile and ceramic, sanitary equipment, chemicals and petrochemicals.

According to existing data, Tatarstan's export volume to Iran in the year 2016 was 10 million dollars and import from Iran was 3 million dollars.
