FM: Regional foreign ministers meeting to help restore stability

Tehran, Dec 19, IRNA – Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi said on Tuesday that the 5th trilateral Iran-Azerbaijan-Turkey foreign ministerial meeting will help restore regional stability and promote development.

In the meeting, all sides will have the opportunity to review various political and economic issues, he said.

The meeting also helps bring the three countries much closer in dealing with regional developments, Qasemi added.

'These talks will not be against any country and can play a positive role in restoring peace, stability and security in the region,' he said.

Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif left Tehran for Baku, Azerbaijan, on Tuesday to participate in the 5th trilateral Iran-Azerbaijan-Turkey meeting.

The meeting aims to review economic cooperation in transit, transportation, energy and custom fields.

The foreign ministers are also supposed to discuss issues of mutual interest, especially in technical and trade issues.
