Moderate quake jolts Hojdak in southeastern Iran

Kerman, Dec 19, IRNA – An earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale jolted Hojdak in Ravar Township and in the mid-south province of Kerman on Tuesday afternoon.

According to a report of seismography center affiliated to Tehran University Geophysics Institute, the tremor occurred at 16:32:30 hours local time (13:02 hours GMT) and its epicenter was at 57.29 degrees longitude and 30.8 degrees latitude and in depth of 10 kilometers underground.

There is no immediate report on possible casualties or damages.

A quake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale jolted Hojdak on December 1, 2017 and had four after-shocks bigger than 6 Richter.

Hojdak is located 80 kilometers from Kerman city.
