Analysts, scholars in Pakistan denounce Trump's Al-Quds move

Islamabad, Dec 19, IRNA - Intellectuals and scholars in Pakistan strongly condemned US President Donald Trump's decision to shift the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem (Beit-ul Moqaddas) terming it as sheer violation of rights of Palestinians.

They were speaking at a seminar to promote inter-faith harmony at University of Haripur in northwestern Pakistan.

The seminar was organized by the Peace and Conflict Resolution committee of the university which was attended by large number of analysts, intellectuals, professors, students and religious personalities.

Consul General of Iran in northwestern city of Peshawar Mohammad Bagher Beigi was the chief guest on the occasion.

Expressing his views, the Iranian diplomat stressed the need for unity among Muslims, and said that it is the need of hour.

While condemning Trumps’ Al-Quds plan, he said that unfortunately today the Muslims are divided. “Disunity among Muslims is the reason for Trump’s aggressive plans against Islamic World,” he pointed out.

Beigi went on to say that no Muslim in the world will accept Jerusalem as the capital of the Zionist regime. He said that Trump’s announcement has brought all Muslims together.

Meanwhile, a conference on the unity of Ummah was also organized at Haripur Press Club which was attended by Consul General of Iran Mohammad Bagher Beigi, scholars, politicians and religious leaders.

On the occasion, speakers slammed Donald Trump for his plan to shift the US embassy to Jerusalem terming it as an open war against the Islamic world.

They said that no conspiracy to change the status of the occupied Jerusalem will be allowed to succeed.
