Guinea Conakry speaker calls for rise in economic ties with Iran

Algiers, Dec 17, IRNA – Parliament Speaker of Guinea Conakry Claude Kory Kondiano in a meeting with Iran's Ambassador to Conakry Hamid Reza Vahid Kiani on Sunday called for expansion of economic cooperation between the two states.

In the meeting, the two sides discussed issues like increase in economic cooperation, parliamentary cooperation as well as the issues of holy Quds.

Kondiano expressed pleasure over the existing mutual cooperation and underlined the necessity to use economic capacities of the two countries.

He said in a meeting with Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in Conakry, he emphasized using Iran's technology and technical-engineering services.

Concerning the recent decision of the US President Trump on holy Quds, the speaker said, like other Muslim states, Guinea Conakry is unpleased over Trump's act and president of Guinea Conakry, as chairman of Africa Union, attended the emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Istanbul to voice his dissatisfaction.

Ambassador Vahid Kiani submitted invitation letter of Majlis (parliament) Speaker Ali Larijani to his counterpart to attend the OIC parliament Union Conference in Tehran.

The 13th OIC parliament union conference is to be hosted by the Iranian parliament in Tehran on January 16-17, 2018.

Guinea Conakry is located in northwestern Africa and has a population of 10 million, 85 percent of whom are Muslims.
