Damascus strongly condemns US-led Syrian civilian massacres

Tehran, Dec 14, IRNA – Syria in a letter to the United Nations on Thursday strongly condemned atrocities by the US-led international coalition committed against the civilians in eastern country.

The condemnation came in a letter sent by Syria's Foreign and Expatriates Ministry to the United Nations Secretary-General and the President of the UN Security Council on the new massacre committed by the US-led “international coalition” in the village of al-Jurze Sharqi in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor Province, the Syrian news agency SANA reported.

The Ministry in its letter said that the US-led coalition, committing the horrible crime, had always pretended to fight Daesh (ISIS) terrorist organization.

But the fact is that the coalition has transferred terrorists to safe places, it said.

Daesh was eradicated by the Syrian Army and its allies, it added.

In the letter, the Ministry also condemned the indifference by those claiming to be concerned about the rule of law, human rights and international humanitarian law towards the massacres committed by the “international coalition” in the provinces of Raqqa and Deir Ezzor.
