Shipping line to link Iran, Oman ports

Tehran, Dec 13, IRNA – Head of Iran-Oman joint chamber of commerce Mohsen Zarrabi declared on Wednesday that a shipping line between Khorramshahr port and Sohar Port in Oman is to be inaugurated on December 30, 2017.

Zarrabi said that increase in export from Khorramshahr Port will has noticeable effect on trade balance of Khuzestan province.

Following establishment of Iran, Oman joint chamber of commerce in 2013, strengthening infrastructures for trade development with Oman, creation of banking relations, facilitation in registration of company and issuing visas as well as launching a shipping line between the two ports were on the agenda.

He called establishment and launching shipping line between Bandar Abbas and Sohar Port as a successful experience, and said that shipping line between Chabahar Port and Sohar Port will be launched in near future.

Sohar Port is one of the most important ports of Oman and is located at the uttermost northern part of Oman.

The region is a connecting and transit axis between West of Asia, India, Pakistan, Africa and Pacific.
