Aftershocks keep SE Iran trembling

Kerman, Dec 13, IRNA - A 4.7-magnitude earthquake jolted the village of Hojedk near the town of Ravar located in southeastern province of Kerman on Wednesday.

According to the Seismological Center of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the tremor occurred at 2:57 hours local time (23:27 GMT) in an area located at 30.75 degrees latitude and 57.31 degrees longitude and in the depth of 10 kilometers.

The epicenter of the quake was registered at 27 km of Hojedk, 40 km of Chatrud and 48 km of Kazemabad.

A 6.2-magnitude tremor also shook Hojedk early this morning.

Another On December 1, a 6.1-magnitude quake rocked the area. More than 300 aftershocks have been registered afterwards.
