Palestine insisting on Quds as capital: Envoy

Beirut, Dec 12, IRNA - Ambassador of Palestine in Lebanon Ashraf Dabbour said on Tuesday that Palestinian National Authority President Mahmoud Abbas solely considers Quds as the capital of Palestine.

'I don’t think what is happening in Palestine is a transient move; some time ago, there were protests in the Holy Quds regarding the electronic gates that went on for 14 days,' Dabbour told IRNA.

He said they went on protest until they succeeded to remove the gates, that were installed to judaize Quds.

Dabbour said, 'Trump will see that the Palestinians will resist and won't stand accepting any encroachment of Quds and Alaqsa Mosque. Quds doesn't only belong to the Palestinians; it belongs to all the Muslims and Christians, and so it will.'

Referring to the long history of resistance, Dabbour added that a new intifada will take form to counter the dangerous decision to move the US embassy to the Holy Quds; the intifada will go on until restoration of the Palestinians rights. He also criticized the Arab League statement, saying that they preferred the statement to be like the Lebanese stance, having 'more apparent sentences opposing Trumps decision'.
