Senior MP: Iran aviation industry equipped with high-tech devices

Tehran, Dec 12, IRNA - A senior MP said despite the sanctions imposed against Iran, the country's industry, Iran Aviation Industries Organization (IAIO) in particular, enjoys the state-of-art technology.

Chairman of parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi made the remarks in a meeting with IAIO Managing Director Brigadier General Abdolkarim Banitarafi.

Pointing to the 'cruel sanctions' imposed on Tehran over its peaceful nuclear program, the legislator said the Iranian parliament will spare no effort to contribute to the progress of Iranian industries specially the IAIO.

Banitarafi, for his part, said IAIO enjoys the highest technology for designing and manufacturing equipment and hardware.

Touching upon the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei's guidelines set out for Iranian Defense Ministry on the necessity of manufacturing indigenous fighter jets, he added that the required infrastructures have been established to meet the objective.

Iran has recently made major breakthroughs in its defense sector and attained self-sufficiency in producing important military equipment and hardware.

The Islamic Republic maintains that its military power poses no threat to other countries and is based on the doctrine of deterrence.
