Massive quake rocks western Iran

Sanandaj, Dec 11, IRNA - A 6-magnitude earthquake rocked the western Iranian Province of Kordestan on Monday.

According to the Seismological Center of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the tremor occurred at 17:39 hours local time (14:09 GMT) with its epicenter being near the city of Ezgeleh at a depth of 10 km (35.07 degrees latitude and 45.08 degrees longitude).

The epicenter of the quake was registered at 26 km of Ezgeleh, 38 km of Nowsud and 43 km of Nowdeshah.

No casualties have been reported as yet.
