Iran Muay Thai fighter wins World Martial Arts Games

Maragheh, Dec 10, IRNA – Iranian Muay Thai fighter Hadi Norouzyian received a gold medal in International Sports and Military Studies Confederation (IFAO) World Martial Arts Games 2017 held in Turkey.

After defeating rivals from Belarus, Sweden and Armenia, Norouzyian advanced the final match.

In the final stage, he hit is Greek rival and ranked first.

Norouzyian had earlier stood first five times in Iran, two times in Asia and once in Thailand.

The IFAO World Martial Arts Games 2017 was held on Dec 6-10 with the attendance of over 50 countries in Istanbul, Turkey.

Muay Thai or Thai boxing is a combat sport of Thailand that uses stand-up striking along with various clinching techniques.

This physical and mental discipline which includes combat on shins is known as 'the art of eight limbs' because it is characterized by the combined use of fists, elbows, knees, shins, being associated with a good physical preparation that makes a full-contact fighter very efficient.
