Indian journalist: Shifting US embassy to Quds to spread terrorism

New Delhi, Dec 9, IRNA - An Indian journalist says that shifting American embassy to al-Quds will spread violence and terrorism throughout the world.

Talking to IRNA, AU Asif who is the editor of the Urdu-language weekly “Chauthi Duniya” noted that about a hundred years ago, Balfour declaration was published to announce the formation of a fake country they called 'Israel'. Now Trump's action in signing the transfer order of the US embassy from Tel Aviv to al-Quds (Jerusalem) serves the purpose of enacting that declaration and bringing it to life.

He stressed that this US action will harm the efforts made over past thirty years to establish peace in Palestine.

'People are dissatisfied with the dilemma of the United States,' Asif said, commenting on protests by people all over the world against the US decision.

He further noted: 'This decision is different from previous positions of the US. So far, the formation of the two states has been raised, but the recognition of Quds as the capital of the Zionist regime only helps the usurper regime.

Asif said this would spread terrorism and violence in the region and the world.

The Indian journalist referred to Palestine as a global issue, and said: The decision of the United States to relocate its embassy to Jerusalem does not affect just Muslims, but it has a broader scope and includes the whole world because Palestine is not a religious or regional issue, but it’s a global problem.

He stressed that this action has hurt the feelings of the Palestinian people and the people of the world in large. 'People in the world as well as in India will continue to raise their voice against this decision of the US government,' he added.

The US President Donald Trump last Wednesday in a press conference by ignoring UN Security Council Resolution 478 dated 1980 which called Israel's move to annex East al-Quds and announce that as Israel's capital as 'Illegal', and said, 'Time is ripe to recognize al-Quds as Israel capital.'

He also ordered necessary preparedness to be done to relocate the US embassy from Tel Aviv to al-Quds.

This was met by fierce criticism from around the world, as many top brass political figures and international organizations warned about repercussions of the decision in the region and world.
