Leader advisor condemns Trump's decision on embassy relocation

Tehran, Dec 8, IRNA – A senior Iranian official here on Friday described the plan by US to relocate Washington’s embassy from Tel Aviv to Beit-ul Moqaddas as the 'craziest and the most unwise' decision made by 'tactless and imprudent' President Donald Trump.

Talking to reporters on the closing ceremony of the Islamic Unity Conference, Ali Akbar Velayati, Supreme Leader's Advisor for International Affairs, said the move is detrimental even to the American nation and the interests of the US.

Velayati reiterated that the move aims to mke up for the US-sponsored Daesh's continuous defeats in Syria and Iraq as well as the repeated failures of American agents in Yemen and Lebanon.

'For sure,' Velayati said, 'what US is doing would clear the way for unity of Muslims in the long run.'

'Trump's measure would unmask the US government and American politicians,' Velayati added.

Supreme Leader's Advisor for International Affairs said moving the US embassy would unite over 1.5 billion of Muslims against Trump, while opening a new chapter for complete collapse of US policies in West Asia and the Islamic countries.

Meanwhile, Iranian foreign ministry has strongly denounced the US administration for its decision to relocate its embassy from Tel Aviv to Beit-ul Moqaddass and recognize Jerusalem (Beit-ul Moqaddas) as the capital of the occupying regime of Israel.

In a statement issued immediately in reaction to Trump’s announcement on Beit-ul Moqaddas as Israel’s capital, the foreign ministry said the decision stands in stark violation of all international resolutions.

Trump's Wednesday decision has been faced by extensive criticisms all over the world even from US allies.
