Iraqi president: US decision to move embassy unjustifiable

Baghdad, Dec 7, IRNA – Iraqi President Fouad Masoum said in an official statement on Thursday that the US government's decision to relocate embassy from Tel Aviv to Holy Quds is unjustified.

Rejecting the move, President Masouym openly announced that he is strongly opposed to the decision, describing it as 'unacceptable and unfair'.

He opined that the decision is a strong blow to peace process in the region, flagrant violation of international regulations and resolutions and ignoring undisputable rights of Palestinians.

Persident Masoum also warned about the critical consequences of the move in the region and world which have been suffering from armed clashes and terrorist attacks.

According to the Iraqi president, the fair and inclusive solution to the issue of Palestine is setting up two governments including that of Palestinians with the Holy Quds as its capital.

Calling on all 'Palestinian friends' to stand united and maintain domestic solidarity, he said that unity is the only suitable mainstay for Palestinians to defend their legitimate rights.

US president's controversial recognition of the Holy Quds as the capital of the Zionist regime of Israel Israel met fierce criticism from around the world, as many top brass political figures and international organizations warned about repercussions of the decision in the region and world.
