Quake hits Iran's Bushehr

Bushehr, Dec 6, IRNA – A 4.2-magnitude earthquake rocked the southern Iranian Province of Bushehr on Wednesday.

According to the Seismological Center of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the earthquake tremor occurred at 11:27 hours (local time) with its epicenter being near the city of Dayyer with a depth of 20 km (27.841 degrees latitutde and 51.920 degrees longitude).

The governor of Dayyer Hamzeh Etemad said no report of fatality or damage has been received.

'The disaster management organization of the region is on full alert,' he said.

Dayyer is 200 kilometers to the south of the provincial capital city, Bushehr.

Two 4.9- and 3.8-magnitude quakes jolted Dayyer and the adjacent city, Kangan, on Tuesday.

Sixteen people were injured in the two earthquakes.
