Drilling 1st well of platform A of SP Phase 14 complete

Tehran, Dec 5, IRNA – The project to drill the first well of Platform A of Phase 14 of South Pars gas field has been completed and finalized to expedite development of South Pars phases.

The 11th government managed to compensate the lagging in gas production in the final days of its work and equalize the output in pair with the Qatari side.

The next goal of the 12th government is to precede the Qatari party in terms of gas production from huge South Pars gas field.

South Pars gas field is the biggest natural gas reserve worldwide, lying on Iran-Qatar border.

Hence, it has put on agenda the development of the phases of secondary importance, including the phases 14, 19, 20, 21, 22 to 24.

As for phase 14, the Ministry of Petroleum is to complete the development process after years of delay.

Ministry of Petroleum website quote the National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC) director in charge of the project for drilling 22 wells in phase 14 of South Pars gas field as part of the project for development of South Pars gas field, Hamid-Reza Shafiee Makvand, as saying that his company has so far undertaken almost 100 meters of drilling.
