Hungary ready to increase oil purchase from Iran

Tehran, Dec 4, IRNA – Hungarian minister of national economy said on Monday that his country intends to increase oil purchase from Iran.

Speaking to reporters after meeting Iranian Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh in Tehran on Monday, Mihaly Varga said, 'We would like to buy more oil from Iran in future.'

Hungarian MOL oil company has bought one million barrels of Iranian oil after Iran nuclear deal, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), was signed.

'Iran and Hungary have agreed to facilitate the financial relations and try to prevent any trouble for investors,' said Varga

Stressing wide banking relations between Iran and Hungary, Varga said that a delegation from Hungarian banks visited Iran last week, adding he doesn’t see any obstacles in the way of returning banking ties to the previous level.

The head of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce Gholam-Hossein Shafei had earlier said that no trade can be done without money transfer and hoped that the statesmen of the two countries take important steps toward solving banking issues.
