President Rouhani: Iran, Turkey developing ties

Tehran, Oct 4, IRNA – President Hassan Rouhani said that Iran and Turkey have been developing political, regional, cultural and economic relations in recent years.

President Rouhani made the remarks Wednesday in a joint press conference with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The Iranian president reiterated that important decisions have been made by both countries in today's meeting and also in joint meeting on strategic cooperation.

He pointed to promoting banking ties between Iran and Turkey and also trade with national currency as important decision made by both sides .

Iran and Turkey also decided to facilitate transportation and transit in three major areas to develop ties, he added.

Regarding both countries' relations in investment sector, Iran is ready to provide facilities for Turkish investors especially in tourism, petrochemical, infrastructure and transportation fields, President Rouhani said.

In oil and gas field, decisions have been made for Turkey to exploit more Iranian gas, and Iranian side also expressed readiness to welcome Turkish investors in gas field.

As regard the importance of relations between two countries, both sides are supposed to promote tourism ties, Rouhani noted.

He also expressed hope for economic and trade ties level to reach 30 billion dollars per year.
