Iranian chess player ranks 2nd in 14th Avicenna Int'l Open Chess

Ardebil, Aug 30, IRNA – Iranian chess player Arvin Adeli stood on the second place in 14th Avicenna International Open Chess Tournament.

Adeli with 9 points from 11 games grabbed the second title.

Top chess players from 17 countries took part in Groups A and B, with 66 and 255 athletes, respectively in each group in the event.

Alexi Shirov from Latvia and Oleg Anatolyevich Korneev from Spain are among the top players in the tournament.

The 14th Avicenna Open International Chess Tournament was held on August 21- 28.
