JCPOA distanced Europe from US: Iranian Vice-president

Shahr-e Kord, Aug 29, IRNA – Vice President and Head of Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs said on Monday that the historic nuclear deal has created a gap between the US and Europe as the European states underlined Iran’s righteousness.

Addressing a local meeting in this western provincial capital city, in Chahar Mahal and Bakhtiari Province, on Monday evening, Seyyed Mohammad Ali Shahidi said that the nuclear deal also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), had significant achievements for Iran including the fact that it highlighted Iran’s entitlement for using the peaceful nuclear energy.

While the US is withstanding JCPOA, Europeans are backing Iran, Shahidi said referring to the rift between Europe and the US over the issue of the landmark nuclear agreement.

Referring to the presence of the Takfiri and terrorist groups in the region, the official said that one of the major achievements of the Islamic establishment is the existing security and stability in the country.

He further noted that people voted for moderation in the presidential elections on May 19 and the government of President Hasssan Rouhani is to meet the demands of the people.
