Trump's Afghanistan strategy doomed to fail: Pakistan PM

Islamabad, Aug 29, IRNA – Pakistan Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi says US President Donald Trump's strategy for America's war in Afghanistan will meet the same fate as the plans of his predecessors -- 'Failure'.

According to Pakistan state media on Tuesday, he made the remarks in an interview to American BloombergTV channel.
'From day one, we have been saying very clearly that the military strategy in Afghanistan has not worked and it will not work,' said the Pakistani premier.
'Wwe do not intend to allow anybody to fight Afghanistan's battle on Pakistan's soil and Islamabad doesn't harbor terrorists. Pakistan is willing to work with all countries, including India for peace in the region.'
Abbasi said the Afghan government should itself deal with Taliban and added, 'We are ready to provide any support to them if they required.'
After the US president in his new strategy on Afghanistan accused Pakistan of providing safe havens to terrorists, the ties between the two countries are going through tough phase with postponement of high-level visits.
Islamabad has strongly rejected the accusations.
