Iran, Indonesia enjoy fruitful ties in various fields: Envoy

Tehran, Aug 21, IRNA – Iran and Indonesia have made great achievements in boosting bilateral ties in tourism, cultural, political and economic fields, Indonesian envoy to Iran said.

Octavian Alimudin made the remarks Sunday in a ceremony held to mark Indonesia's 72nd Independence Anniversary which was held in Tehran Milad Tower.

He pointed to suitable ties between Iran and Indonesia, saying both countries have held good bilateral political meetings.

He went on to say that the two sides have also held talks on oil and gas and on launching direct flight as well.

The Indonesian envoy referred to both countries' cooperation in technology and sports as well as the youth affairs, saying Indonesia has active participation in Iran Quran exhibition.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Asia and Pacific Affairs Ebrahim Rahimpour congratulated the anniversary of Indonesia Independence Day.

Rahimpour said that Tehran is optimistic that the Indonesian government will stay moderate and fight extremism and terrorism.
