Zarif: Upgrading ties with neighbors tops ministry's priorities

Tehran, Aug 12, IRNA -- Economic diplomacy and improving ties with neighbors are on top of ministry's priority list, the proposed minister of foreign affairs Mohammad Javad Zarif said.

Zarif pointed to other priorities of his foreign ministry, and said the economy of resistance, boosting non-oil exports and facilitating investment and technology entrance are on the top of his agenda.

'We are living in the most dangerous region and we have to try maintaining peace, stability and developing regional cooperation,' he added.

Foreign Ministry has always pioneered in taking advantage of women and minority groups, Zarif said.

He also slammed beheading of military advisor Mohsen Hojajji by Daesh (ISIS) Takfiri terrorist group in Syria.

The recent terrorist act had first signaled messages indicating bravery of those who stand against terrorists to defend values and people of the region, secondly, it displayed the violence of those who have inhumane behavior, he said.

Following a US strike against the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces (Hashd al-Shaabi), Daesh seized the opportunity to attack the Syrian troops deployed in the borders with Iraq in which Mohsen Hojjaji, an Iranian military advisor was taken as hostage by the terrorists and beheaded later before camera.
