Five people killed in two separate terrorist attacks in Pakistan

Islamabad, Aug 11, IRNA -- At least five people were killed and several others injured in two separate terrorist attacks in Pakistan on Friday, media reports say.

Three people were killed and 25 injured as a result of an explosion in Pakistan’s north western Bajaur tribal region bordering Afghanistan.

Initial reports say that the explosion occurred when an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted on a roadside went off in Chaharmang area of Bajaur. Laborers working in the area were the target of the blast.

No group has so far claimed responsibility of the attack.

Meanwhile, a police officer and his driver were shot dead in Karachi on Friday morning.

The officer was on his way to office from home when unidentified gunmen riding a motorcycle opened fire on his vehicle.
