Larijani: Cooperation with African states Iran's foreign policy principle

Tehran, Aug 7, IRNA – Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani in meeting with Gambian parliament Vice-Speaker Momodou L.K. Sanneh here on Monday said cooperation with African states tops its foreign policy agenda.

He pointed to importance of expansion of relations between Iran and Gambia, and said that way to bolster the cooperation is paved and expressed the hope that Gambian government and parliament can use Iran's different capacities in the field of trade and economy.

Larijani added that in recent years, Iran had noticeable progress in different fields, including industry, mining, agriculture, food industries, and pharmaceutical industry and engineering services, which could be used for the expansion of cooperation.

Majlis interested for expansion of cooperation between Iran and Gambia and expressed the hope Gambian parliamentary delegation to Iran prepares ground for promotion of bilateral ties.

Momodou Sanneh pointed to Iran's position in international and regional arena, and said that wide participation of world countries officials in swearing-in ceremony of President Rouhani indicates Iran's readiness for interaction and cooperation with other states.

He underlined necessity to bolster interaction level in economic, trade and politics between the two countries and added that it is expected the bilateral relations to be expanded.
