Zarif: Strengthening Iran-Angola banking ties necessary

Tehran, Aug 7, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said in a meeting with Angolan Minister of External Relations Georges Rebelo Chicoti that Iran will try to move the economic relations with Angola ahead by strengthening banking ties.

Expressing his pleasure at his being in Iran and participating in Iranian President Hassan Rouhani’s inauguration ceremony During the Monday meeting, Chicoti said that Angola is always interested in expanding bilateral ties.

Saying that he is visiting Iran for the first time, he added he was surprised with advancements in Iran.

Zarif also voiced Iran’s readiness to enhance cooperation with Angola in business relations, pharmaceuticals, and technology.

Banking relations need to be developed so that the two sides would be able to accelerate economic collaborations and there are important grounds for mutual cooperation in technical and engineering sectors, Zarif said.
