Spokesman: Unexpected visit by EU official to Iran baseless

Tehran, August 2, IRNA -- Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi said on Wednesday that spread of some rumors on unexpected visit by a European Union (EU) official to Iran is totally unfounded.

European Commissionner for the Digital Single Market Andrus Ansip under no circumstances (Personal or administrative ) has paid a visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran, Qasemi said.

Some media have claimed that Andrus Ansip has visited Tehran on July 27 (Thursda) secretly and without observing normal protocol for hosting a foreign high-ranking official.
