Yemeni Deputy PM in Pakistan two years after Yemen war

Islamabad, March 13, IRNA – Deputy Prime Minister of Yemen Abdulmalik Abduljalil Al-Mekhlafi who is also the foreign minister of the country, on Monday met with President Mamnoon Hussain in Islamabad and discussed bilateral relations, Pakistani state media reported.

Talking on this occasion, Pakistan President said that Islamabad considers Abdrabuh Mansour Hadi as the legitimate leader of Yemen.

The Yemeni official also had a meeting with Pakistan’s Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz.

Pakistani state media is giving no further details of the meetings.

Yemeni Deputy Prime Minister is visiting Pakistan just before the second anniversary of the Saudi war against Yemen.

Saudi Arabia had wanted Pakistan to join the war, but Pakistani parliament passed a unanimous resolution urging the country to stay neutral in the conflict.
