President Rouhani wraps up Kuwait visit

Tehran, Feb 16, IRNA - President Hassan Rouhani left Kuwait City for Tehran late on Wednesday at the end of an official visit to Kuwait.

While in Kuwait, President Rouhani discussed major regional developments in a meeting with Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Ahmad Jaber al-Sabah and also explored avenues for strengthening bilateral ties.

President Rouhani was warmly seen off at Kuwait City airport by the emir of Kuwait and other high-ranking officials of the Persian Gulf country.

President Rouhani arrived in Kuwaiti City from Muscat, Oman, on Wednesday on the second leg of his day-long tour to the region.

He visited Oman upon an official invitation of Sultan of Oman Qaboos bin Said al Said.

Prior to his departure from Tehran, President Rouhani told reporters that Tehran welcomed the message of the six Persian Gulf littoral states delivered to Iran by the Kuwaiti government for removing misunderstandings and improving relations between the two sides.
