The oceanographic research vessel named ‘Persian Gulf Explorer’ is to start its research mission as of today, head of the Iranian National Institute for Oceanography and Atmospheric Science (INIOAS) Naser Hajizadeh said.
The modern RV which is 50 m long, 10 m wide, and 12 m high is capable of doing research in the Persian Gulf, Sea of Oman and north of the Indian Ocean waters for 45 days, Hajizadeh noted.
