Rouhani: All sides should remain committed to implementation of JCPOA

Tehran, Oct 31, IRNA – President Hassan Rouhani on Monday called on all sides to remain committed to sound implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

President Rouhani made the remarks in a meeting with the new British Ambassador to Tehran Nicholas Hopton.
Underlining the importance of JCPOA, President Rouhani said, 'We need to recompense the lost chances after implementation of the JCPOA.'
In the meeting, the new British ambassador submitted his credentials to President Rouhani.
'Relations between Iran and Britain have been growing over recent years and through activating existing capabilities, we should speed them up,' Rouhani said.
Referring to the presence of Britain in talks between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the G5+1, Rouhani said in light of their collective endeavors, the seven countries successfully reached agreement and their accord bears a very positive message for the world that differences could be resolved through diplomatic means.
Iran has been fully abiding by its JCPOA commitments and the other side should do the same, Rouhani said.
'Since the JCPOA has been implemented we have lost many opportunities and it is essential to upgrade level of economic, scientific, cultural and political ties and all this depends on reestablishment of a complete banking cooperation, Rouhani said.
New British ambassador, for his part said, 'We are now witnessing substantive developments in bilateral relations and British companies and banks are very eager to augment cooperation with the Iranian companies. In the near future talks will be held on resumption of cooperation between the two sides' central banks. '
On regional developments, he said, 'We hope to have closer cooperation with Iran in addressing regional developments.'
