According to seismography center affiliated to Tehran University Geophysics Institute, the tremor occurred at 15:28:14 hours local time (11:58 hours GMT) and its epicenter was at 35.45 degrees latitude and 56.96 degrees longitude.
There is no immediate report on possible casualty or damages.
Another quake shocked the same area in the morning by strength of 4.9 on Richter scale.
District Governor of Biarjomand Ruhollah Karimi told IRNA that the earlier earthquake had no casualty and damages.
